The Scandalous Seuss

While one of our librarians was reading this book during storytime, she noticed that it wasn't written by Dr. Seuss. Using our amazing reference skills, we found that indeed it was written by Dr. Suess. According to the unevenly reliable Wikipeda, we found that Theodor Seuss Geisel was Dr. Suess. Geisel apparently got caught drinking in college, during prohibition, and was forced off the college newspaper. Wanting to continue writing he started using the pen name "Seuss". Flip Geisel around and you've got LeSieg. So in fact, it was written by Dr. Seuss.

I want all of you children to know, that I don't support drinking, but I do support second chances. The wonderful man is a lovely example of that.
